One of the most practical and reliable methods of data storage is the so-called off-site tape backup solution. Storing data off-site is the best way to avoid data loss on location, for example through fire.

Licensing model TSM

The purchasing of TSM licensing is based on the amount of backup data (Terabyte License Model).

Storage at two locations

For parties using data storage of Vancis, all backup files are stored redundantly and geographically distributed. The backup data will be stored on tape at two locations in the Vancis datacenters in Amsterdam and Almere. An advantage of a backup solution on tape is that the stored data is only accessible via a restore. This procedure avoids every danger of unauthorized access, i.e. via the Internet, but also unauthorized access by the organization itself. The tapes are stored in a secure, conditioned (fire-resistant) environment.
