Wide Area Networks
Distances are of no importance
Wide Area Networks cover (very) long distances to allow companies and institutes located far from each other to directly connect to this network.
Wide Area Networks have – mostly on more than one location – external connections with other big networks. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and multinationals with many offices frequently own a WAN themselves. Other examples are regional education networks and company networks between different branches.
Extensive expertise
Vancis BV uses the extensive expertise of SARA in design, implementation and management of fiber networks. Since the inception of SURFnet in the 1980s, SARA has been responsible for the Network Operations Center of the SURFnet network, which connects the Dutch universities and research organizations with each other.
Vancis BV focuses on providing and managing Wide Area Networks with very high bandwidth. The management is based on a remote management concept and contains monitoring, incident management, change management, configuration management and support by the Network Control Center.
